You can board and disembark the water taxi at any of these three locations:
Fort Trumbull State Park in New London: on the hour
City Pier in New London: 20 minutes after the hour
Thames River Landing in the City of Groton: 40 minutes after the hour
Friday: noon – 10 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Sunday & holidays: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. the water taxi makes three stops each hour in a continuous hop on-hop off loop beginning and ending at Fort Trumbull.
The last stop at Fort Trumbull is 7 p.m.
After 7 p.m. the water taxi runs between City Pier, New London and Thames River Landing, Groton every 20 minutes beginning at 7:20 at City Pier.

We are happy to accommodate bikes if space allows.
Dogs are welcome on the boat, space permitting. Dogs that cannot be carried on and off the water taxi should be able to navigate a short ramp onto and off the boat.
Yes. However, there are conditions in which the weather may impact the taxi service so it’s always good to check if you’re not sure. For example, thunderstorms may affect the times of departure and arrival. You can find the status of the water taxi at the top of each page of this website. If there are no weather conditions the dot will be Green. A Yellow dot indicates the taxi is running but may be delayed and a Red dot indicates it is not running.
The Water Taxis are refurbished Navy boats that are used for shuttling crews to and from large ships. They are not ADA compliant and do not have a restroom. For accessibility information please click here.
