Led by local historians Nicole Thomas and Tom Schuch.

Along the way, you’ll get an introduction to the people, places, and events which have shaped the region. Learn about other heritage sites you can visit in Groton and New London and hear fascinating stories about the communities of Thames River Heritage Park.

In honor of the 250th Anniversary of Signing of the Declaration of Independence, this tour will focus on colonial life and trade along the Thames, culminating with the 1781 Battle of New London and Groton Heights when Benedict Arnold led his traitorous raid on the local militia.
