“CT Maritime Heritage Festival” Drone Cruise

Tickets On Sale NOW!

Saturday, September 12 | 7:45PM

Held during the CT Maritime Heritage Festival and part of the America’s Navy 250 Celebration, get right under the action of the 300-drone light show over the New London waterfront. This is the only one of its kind in Eastern CT.

The park’s Drone Show Cruise will bring you for a tour down the Thames River and — weather and boat traffic permitting — out to the Ledge Lighthouse and back to secure a front row spot for the display.

This patriotic and family-friendly spectacle will be synchronized to music, lighting up the night sky with vibrant, choreographed displays honoring 250 years of the U.S. Navy’s service and legacy. Watch as drones form iconic naval symbols, American flags, and messages of unity and pride—an unforgettable tribute perfect for all ages.

Feel free to bring snacks and drinks aboard, but glass is prohibited. Also please know that there is no bathroom on the boat.

ECTy 2026 “Tourism Leader of the Year” Winner!

The Park will be honored at the upcoming Annual Chamber ECTy Awards on September 2, 2026!

“Thames River Heritage Park Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission and purpose is to promote, support, and sustain the Thames River Heritage Park, a collection of heritage sites linked by water which capture the history and culture of life along the Thames River.

The overall vision is to make the heritage and culture of the Thames River region vivid and relevant to all by connecting people, communities, institutions, sites and stories to the historic waterfront and natural landscape of the Thames River Estuary.

The Park truly comes alive in the summer when the retired, naval utility boats are launched in the river for the annual boating season. Guests travel from across the country to experience the Hop On, Hop Off Harbor Cruise, Historic Boat Tours and Evening Cruises between June and October. And heritage sites that are shuttered during the winter re-open and expand the number of sites accessible to visitors.

We are so fortunate to collaborate with over 25 heritage sites and institutional partners throughout the entire year. Whether they are supporting the winter Lecture Series and Docent Academy or connecting youth participants to our educational programs, it is a large team effort to keep local history alive along the Thames River.
