Fort Trumbull State Park
Trails Day is a two-day national event (the first weekend in June) that pays tribute to all the wonderful trails our country has to offer. If there was ever a time to celebrate our amazing Connecticut trails, 2021 is it! Trails and open spaces have become the places to escape to and enjoy in challenging times.
TRHP Celebrates Connecticut Trails Day!
Come celebrate Connecticut Trails Day at Thames River Heritage Park. Take a self-guided, family-friendly treasure-seeking hikes at Fort Trumbull State Park, Waterfront Park in Downtown New London, Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park and/or Thames Street in Groton. At each site you will follow a series of clues to learn about the history and the ecology of the area and the river while solving a word puzzle. Participants who finish any of the quests and send in a selfie at the final location to firstname.lastname@example.org will be entered into a random weekly prize drawing.
Questers, who register with TRHP, complete quest(s) on Connecticut Trails Day – Saturday, June 5, 2021, and send a selfie from the final location to email@example.com or post it on their social media account selfie with a tag* to THRP are eligible for a complimentary harbor cruise ticket.
